Another key difference: the Fixed Handle version offers two sleeve length options, giving you flexibility based on your space or loading needs, while the Open Trap Bar comes with a single sleeve length configuration.

Choosing between the 28mm and 28mm/38mm hybrid handles comes down to how you want the bar to challenge your grip. The 28mm option mirrors a traditional barbell feel—comfortable, familiar, and easier to hold—so you can focus on moving heavier weight without your grip becoming the limiting factor. The Fixed Handle Open Trap Bar rackable sleeve option is designed to be rackable on a standard 47” wide REP rack, and it’s also compatible with most racks up to 49” in width. That means it will sit flush and secure on your J-cups without pulling them inward. The compact sleeve is not rackable. 

Yes—but it’s quick and straightforward. You’ll just attach the sleeves and handles to the main frame. Total setup time is typically 10–15 minutes, so you’ll be ready to lift without any hassle.

It ships in two packages, one for the frame and another for the handles. The packages will either ship ground or freight depending on the size of the total order.
